Chad Peters begins his second year as Associate Athletic Director, after having spent eight years at College of the Canyons as an athletic trainer and adjunct faculty member in the college’s kinesiology department.
In his current role, Peters is responsible for game management, transportation, student athlete eligibility, as well as team schedules.
Beginning in 2008, Peters worked as an athletic trainer, with an eye toward the prevention, treatment, and rehabilitation of activity-related injuries and conditions sustained by student-athletes while competing for the college’s 16 intercollegiate sports programs.
Peters, a certified athletic trainer, also spent six years in the same capacity at L.A. Valley College.
Prior to that he worked as an athletic trainer for two years at California State University, Bakersfield.
A product of the California Community College system, Peters earned his associate degree from Moorpark College in 1997. He then went on to earn a bachelor’s degree in kinesiology with an emphasis in sports medicine from Fresno State in 2000.
Peters also holds a master’s degree in health care administration from California State University, Bakersfield, and a second master’s degree in physical education from Emporia State University.
