Middle blocker Grace Ferguson smashed 12 kills, Elizabeth Gannon recorded six aces and Sydney Higginson tallied 25 assists, as the Cougars rolled to a 3-0 victory over Glendale College on Friday night. Set scores were 25-9, 25-17, 25-20.

The evening marked the final regular season home match of the season, with the team's five sophomores honored during a brief 'Sophomore Night' ceremony prior to first serve.

Ferguson hit .524  for the match to lead all players with more than five attacks. She also ended the game with six total blocks, an ace and two digs.

Kayla Tait was next in line with seven kills and Kyra Titner added five to help pace the Cougars' offense. Madison Martinez, Higginson and Tyler Dobrowsky each had three kills apiece.

Gannon's six aces represented a match-high. As a team, Canyons netted 13 points from the back line. Ricki Patenaude was next on the squad with three aces of her own.

Martinez and Gannon tied for the team lead with seven digs.

Canyons (13-7, 8-2) has won nine of its last 10 matches. The Cougars currently sit two games out of the conference top spot with two regular season games remaining.

Despite that recent string of success, Canyons has fallen out of the California Community College Women's Volleyball Coaches Association (CCCWVCA) statewide rankings after having been ranked within the Top-25 for every poll since mid-September.

COC will close out the 2019 regular season with a road meeting vs. Citrus on Nov. 6, before the season finale at Santa Monica College on Friday, Nov. 8.
