Ashley Striegel and Emery Floyd Named COC Student-Athletes of the Week

College of the Canyons student-athletes Ashley Striegel (women's soccer) and Emery Floyd (football) have been named the COC Athletic Department's Women's & Men's Student-Athletes of the Week for the period running Sept. 18-23. Striegel and Floyd are the fourth set of honorees for the fall 2023 semester.

Striegel added to her team-leading goal total with the Lady Cougars' lone score of the game during the team's road match vs. Santa Barbara City College.
The goal, which opened the scoring, was the third of the season for the freshman out of Saugus High School and helped Canyons earn a 1-1 draw vs. the Vaqueros.
Streigel has enjoyed a hot start to the season with goals in COC's first two matches before netting the goal vs. SBCC.

Floyd had a big game in helping the Cougars defeat No. 19 Santa Barbara City College at La Playa Stadium on Sept. 23.
The freshman quarterback, out of Wharton High School in Tampa, Florida, finished the game 12-of-20 for 225 yards and the touchdown through the air. He also added a team-high 71 rushing yards on 12 attempts with another touchdown as the Cougars won the contest 24-14.
Floyd currently ranks seventh in the state with five rushing touchdowns on the season.
