Monique Fulling & Reid Farrell Named Jersey Mike’s Student-Athletes of the Week

College of the Canyons student-athletes Monique Fulling (women's track & field) and Reid Farrell (baseball) have been named the Jersey Mike's COC Athletic Department's Women's & Men's Student-Athletes of the Week for the period running Feb. 9-14. Fulling and Farrell are the fourth set of honorees for the 2026 winter/spring period.

Fulling enjoyed a strong all-around performance for the Cougars during the annual Battle of the Regions meet hosted by Bakersfield College on Feb. 13.

The sophomore out of Granada Hills Charter won the 100h event with a time of 15.74 for her top result of the day. Later, it was Fulling running second at a pace of 25.84 in the 200m race.

Fulling also competed for both relay teams. In the 4x400 event she ran first along with Syrai Piper, Amara Shields and Hazel Rhodes to clock a time of 3:56.87 to win that event by more than 19 seconds.

That same grouping also finished third at a time of 49.62 in the 4x100 relay with Fulling again leading the way in the first position.

Farrell's time at the plate produced dividends for the Cougars who posted a 2-1 record for the week.

The sophomore slugger from Valencia High School finished 3-for-4, with a walk and two doubles, while scoring three runs, during COC's 16-7 win over visiting Allan Hancock College on Feb. 10. 

Two days later Farrell added another hit along with a walk, stolen base and run scored in the Cougars' 6-3 win at Oxnard College.

Farrell then closed out the week by finishing 2-for-4 with a double and two-run home run during a 17-5 home loss to Orange Coast College.

For the week, Farrell finished 6-of-13 with three extra base hits, two walks, five runs, two RBIs and a stolen base.
