To be eligible for the Academic Excellence Award student-athletes must have competed in their sport for two seasons and demonstrate tremendous leadership qualities, with the student's combined GPA also a determining factor in recognizing award winners.
The honorees for the 2025-26 academic year are:
- Reid Farrell — Baseball
- Victoria Jamison — Women's Cross Country/Track & Field
- Jeniece Jimenez — Softball
- Gigi Montiforte — Women's Soccer
- Koy Mortenson — Football
- Jacques Struyf — Men's Golf
The college's 2026 graduating class includes more than 90 student-athletes, with a combined GPA above 3.4, who will be earning an associate degree and/or transferring to a four-year school. In all, more than 100 associate degrees will be awarded to COC student-athletes.
Those numbers included individuals from 15 of the college's intercollegiate athletic programs and eight dual-sport student-athletes.
