Orbach & Cornelius Lead Cougars' All-Conference Selections

College of the Canyons had four players from its 2024-25 squad recognized with All-Western State Conference (WSC), South Division honors, including a pair of First-Team selections.
COC sophomore Raz Orbach and freshman Donovan Cornelius were both named to the All-WSC, South Division First Team.
Cougars' freshmen Wyatt Wilson and Gilad Ziegel were both recognized with Honorable Mention selections.
Orbach averaged 10 points per game alongside 4.2 rebounds and two assists in the final season of his Cougar career. The forward from Tel Mond, Israel logged 21 starts across his 26 appearances and shot better than 47 percent from the field. He scored a season-best 22 points at L.A. Valley College on Feb. 12, while his season high of 11 rebounds came at Rio Hondo College on Dec. 18. Orbach reached double-digit point totals in 14 contests.
Cornelius posted a stat line of 11.3 points, 4.1 rebounds and 2.3 assists while also shooting better than 47 percent from the floor. He led the team in scoring while seeing his production increase to 12.1 per night during conference play. His assist totals also ranked second on the squad. Cornelius' season-high came vs. Orange Coast College during the opening round of the Cougar Holiday Classic, where he finished with 22 points. That was one of 18 contests in which he reached double-digits.
Wilson enjoyed a productive freshman campaign averaging 10.1 points, 3.9 rebounds and 1.4 assists each night out. The Saugus High School grad started in 24 of 25 games while shooting 39.2 percent from three-point territory and just over 43 percent from the field. On Jan. 4, he poured in a season-best 32 points vs. Glendale College to begin conference play after finishing 5-of-8 from long range.
Ziegel finished the year averaging 8.1 points, 3.1 rebounds and 1.1 assists across his 28 appearances. The freshman out of Taft High School was particularly impactful during conference play with 11 games in double figures, including a season-high 23 points at Antelope Valley College on Feb. 1. He averaged 11.7 points vs. WSC, South opponents while also seeing his rebounding totals elevate to 4.4 per game.
Canyons finished the season with an overall record of 10-18 while going 6-8 in conference play to finish tied for fourth in the Western State Conference (WSC), South Division standings.
