2019 College of the Canyons Men's Golf News
The Cougars won by a whopping 18 strokes to claim the ninth state title in program history and freshman Nobuhiko Wakaari won the individual title after finishing two-under for the day.
The 2019 Southern California championship is the program’s second straight regional title, and seventh overall.
The conference title is the 25th overall in program history all coming under Canyons head coach Gary Peterson.
COC freshman Anguerrand Voisin (74) tied for the tourney top spot and Jules Lavigne (75) tied for third overall to help the Cougars finish second in team standings.
Nobuhiko Wakaari (71) was the medalist, Tim Sims (74) finished fifth overall and Matthew Mansholt (75) was sixth.
Led by Wakaari, Canyons carded a five-man score of 369 at Los Serranos Country Club on Monday.
COC sophomore Matthew Mansholt was the event medalist with a round of 68 and Nobuhiko Wakaari took second at 69.
COC freshman Nobuhiko Wakaari was the tourney medalist for the fourth time this season with his three-under par round of 69.
Canyons had three players in the top-five with Nobuhiko Wakaari (74) and Jack Greene (74) finishing runner-up, and Tom Sims (78) taking fifth place.
