Holder, who was also named to the All-SoCal Regional Team, topped COC in batting average (.465), RBIs (54) and home runs (nine).
COC and Mt. SAC will square off at 4 p.m. on Friday, with No. 2 Santiago Canyon and No. 9 SBCC getting things started at 2 p.m.
The Cougars (31-12) will be joined by event host No. 2 Santiago Canyon (34-7), No. 3 Mt. SAC (37-5) & No. 9 Santa Barbara City College (30-12), in the double-elimination tournament being held May 13-16.
The best-of-three series begins at 2 p.m. Saturday, May 7, at Ray Whitten Field. Game two will be held at 12 p.m. Sunday. If necessary, a third and final game will be played as part of a Sunday afternoon doubleheader.
COC posted a 29-11 regular season record and 19-2 mark in conference play, while seeing 10 players earn All-WSC Honors.
The conference title is the program’s 13th overall and sixth under nine-year head coach John Wissmath. Canyons previously won back-to-back-to-back WSC titles in 2012, 2013, 2014.
The Cougars (23-9, 13-2) have now won 13 of 14 to remain on top of the WSC, Blue Division standings.
The Cougars (20-8,10-1) defeated the Marauders 13-5 & 10-5.
Canyons connected for 21 hits and sophomore Ashley Russo earned the 19-2 win in five innings of work.
Sophomore hurler Ashley Russo registered nine strikeouts and infielder Kiana Holder slugged a grand slam as the Cougars win third straight.
COC starter Ashley Russo (5-4) was brilliant on Tuesday, earning the win in both games while tossing a combined 11 innings of nearly scoreless softball.
The Scholar Team Award is the highest academic team achievement given annually by the CCCAA.
Canyons (7-5) slammed 17 hits in the rallying effort and sophomore Alexis Ramirez (5-1) pitched the entire eight innings to get the win.
COC freshman Sarah Wilson hit a two-run home run in the second game to give Canyons its lone offensive highlight of the day.
