Kneisel, who is a member of the college's women’s soccer and track & field programs, becomes the first COC student-athlete to win the award.

COC track & field will send eight student-athletes to compete in six events at CCCAA State Championships, being held May 20-21 at San Diego Mesa College.
The COC women’s team will send 13 individual student-athletes to compete in seven events. Likewise, the men’s team will compete in seven events with a team of 12.

The COC women's track & field program claimed conference titles in the javelin, long jump and high jump events to help pace the Cougars.
The Cougar Track & Field program will be hosting the 2016 Western State Conference Prelims on Friday, April 22, at Cougar Stadium. Competition begins at 11 a.m.
Canyons combined for five first place finishes, while freshman Dana Bowers took second in the javelin (35.72m), fourth in the high jump (1.35m), fifth in the hammer throw (34.47m) and sixth in the shot put (10.69m).
