COC sophomores Celine Whitman, Garrett Noltemeyer, Maxwell Hudson and Blake Beeler have been named to the 5CTCA Academic All-State Team.
COC sophomore Marcel Sylvester (high jump) was joined by the men's 4x100m and 4x400m relay teams in picking up JC All-American honors.
Canyons will see student-athletes compete in a combined nine events at state championships.
Canyons will send 12 student-athletes to compete in a combined 11 events at the regional meet hosted by San Diego Mesa College.
Canyons wins individual titles in the 400m (Leo Lambert), 400h (Slade Cavallaro) and 4x100m relay (Lambert, Cavallaro, Blake Beeler, Calel Christian).
Beard won the high event and placed third in the long jump to score a combined 16 points for the Cougars.
Takaira Beard (3,451 points) finished eighth, while Megan Carbajal (3,241 points) took the No. 10 spot.
The Canyons men’s team edged out a 144-142 victory over Glendale, while the women’s squad dominated the field with 80-point victory.
The COC men's 4x100m and 4x400m relay teams both finished first in a field that include several four-year schools.
The Cougars returned home with 18 top-10 finishes on the day including Slade Cavallaro's second place finish in the 400h.
COC squads both scored top-10 finishes with the men’s team taking second place and the women’s team settling for ninth overall.
