Canyons Stays in Second at El Cariso.
Nisha Gaulke tied for fifth on the day with a round of 86 and has now finished top six in the individual standings in every event she has entered this season.

SYLMAR — College of the Canyons continues to position itself as one of the top two teams in the Western State Conference (WSC) after placing second for the fifth straight tournament at the Cougars' home conference event played at El Cariso Golf Course on Monday.
Canyons received strong rounds from Nisha Gaulke, Katie La Torre, Samantha McCray and Tyra Boozer on a day when, fortunately, gray skies and the chance of rain did not factor into the event outcome.
Gaulke, who has finished in the top six of the individual standings in every event she has entered this season, posted a round of 86 to tie for fifth in the day.
La Torre was next in the clubhouse for Canyons, finishing 10th overall at 91.
McCray tied for 11th overall with her round of 93. That round equaled her best score of the season.
Boozer was the final scorer for Canyons with a round of 94.
Ashley Cortez finished with a score of 99, but had her score dropped from the final total.
Antelope Valley College won the event with a four-player score of 341. The Marauders continue to lead the WSC standings. Arlene Salvador of AVC was the event medalist with a score of 65.
Canyons placed second at 364 followed by Citrus College at 372. Bakersfield, Moorpark and Santa Barbara City College all competed in the event but did not factor into team scoring.
The Cougars will next compete in the WSC Invitational event on Oct. 25. A course and tee time have yet to be determined.
