Santa Barbara, Calif. — The College of the Canyons women's soccer team failed to score a goal for the first time this season, as the Cougars dropped a 1-0 contest at host Santa Barbara City College.
Canyons (1-1-1) surrendered the lone goal just one minute and 20 seconds into the game, when SBCC defender Lena Gustafsson booted one in from roughly 25-yards out.
After that the Canyons defense tightened up and did not allow another score. In the match, Canyons outshot the Vaqueros by a margin of six to three.
COC head coach Justin Lundin and the Cougars will next travel to Moorpark College on Tuesday, Sept. 22.
