Lady Cougars Tennis Falls to Visiting Orange Coast in Season Opener

College of the Canyons dropped its 2023 season opener to visiting Orange Coast College by an 8-1 final score on Friday, with the Lady Cougars only able to pick up a doubles win.
Canyons picked up a point in No. 3 doubles action with the freshmen duo of Faith Abt and Marie Arana Llosa playing to an 8-3 victory.
Orange Coast (1-0) swept the six matches in singles play and took two more points during doubles matchups.
The Lady Cougars next begin Western State Conference (WSC) play at Glendale College on Tuesday, Jan. 31. First serve is scheduled for 2 p.m.
Canyons took the 2022 WSC championship after an undefeated 12-0 run through conference play.
