Leila Sadra / Women's Soccer
Sadra scored in back-to-back matches to help the No. 7 state ranked Cougars (5-0) remain undefeated in non-conference play.
The Castaic High School alum came away with the opening score in the Cougars' 2-0 victory at San Bernardino Valley College on Sept. 16.
Later in the week, it was Sadra scoring the opening goal once again, this time on a free kick, before netting a second goal just four minutes later. Sadra remained active and on the attack, and later sent a ball to Gisele Saravia who scored in what was an eventual 4-0 road victory at Allan Hancock College on Sept. 19.
Sadra currently leads Canyons with four goals and is tied for the team lead with nine points across five games.
Jake Pikor / Football
Pikor was instrumental COC's 20-14 victory over No. 18 Pasadena City College at Cougar Stadium on. Saturday.
The sophomore out of Valencia High School was part of a defensive front that harassed the PCC signal callers from the onset. Pikor got home twice on Saturday, finishing the game with two sacks and another tackle for loss. He was named the Chick-Fil-A Valencia Town Center Player of the Game.
The defensive lineman has now recorded a combined three sacks in the last two contests, including a strip sack and fumble recovery for a touchdown in the Cougars' week three loss to No. 8 Riverside City College.
